From Dresden to Cairns: Waiter has seen it all

Thomas Schleehahn may not know how the other half live, but he's learnt a lot about how they like to holiday. Schleehahn, who was recently appointed food and beverages service manager at Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, grew up in the German town of Dresden and started in the hospitality industry as a 16-year-old learning the skills of food and beverage.

While the job has taken him around the world, that was never a selling point for entering the hotel industry.
